    Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin, muscle, and fat from the area around your eyes. It is necessitated by the aging process, which causes your eyelid muscles to stretch and weaken while fat accumulates above and below your eyelids.

  • How Long Does It Take to Heal From Eyelid Surgery?

    Although most patients report minimal pain or discomfort following blepharoplasty, swelling and bruising may last as long as 10 to 14 days. Stitches will require postoperative care and recovery time will vary from patient to patient.

    • Avoid swimming for a week after surgery
    • Avoid strenuous activities such as aerobics and jogging for a week after surgery
    • Avoid heavy lifting for a week after surgery
    • Avoid using contact lenses for two weeks after surgery

    Combining blepharoplasty with other cosmetic procedures could lead to additional restrictions so be sure to talk to your doctor.
